AMI Snow Day Assignments
1st Snow Day Assignment:

You are not in school today because of the weather. So what is happening in your life today? Create a drawing, painting, or digital work of art that represents this day to you. This will be art that represents a day in your life.

Your artwork might be the interior of a room or a landscape outside. It might include yourself, friends, and/or family. You might be looking out the window or draw from memory. Color your drawing with whatever art materials you have available for more points!

Bring your finished artwork to art class and turn it in to Mrs. Nhu (or email a picture of it to her at angela.nhu@rpsar.net) on the day we return back to school for a grade.

2nd Snow Day Assignment:

Claude Monet is a very famous French Impressionist artist, most well known for painting the same subject over and over... but at different times of the day and during each of the different seasons: fall, winter, spring, and summer. He was fascinated with capturing the different light and colors and how the different times of day and seasons changed the same subject.

Divide a sheet of paper into 4 boxes and draw the same outdoor scene (from your imagination, memory, or visual reference) 4 times to represent how it would look different during each of the 4 seasons. Color your drawing with whatever art materials you have available for more points!

Bring your finished artwork to art class and turn it in to Mrs. Nhu (or email a picture of it to her at angela.nhu@rpsar.net) on the day we return back to school for a grade.

3rd Snow Day Assignment:

Draw your hand holding one of your favorite objects. Shade your hand and the object as realistically as possible. Draw a simple pattern or design in the background around your hand and object as well to make the artwork more interesting and to fill the page. Add color to your drawing with whatever art materials you have available for more points!

Bring your finished artwork to art class and turn it in to Mrs. Nhu (or email a picture of it to her at angela.nhu@rpsar.net) on the day we return back to school for a grade.

4th Snow Day Assignment:

Set up a little still life of objects from around your house. Use only 3 or 5 objects. Position them so that some over lap others from the point of view that you will be looking at them from. Draw them as realistically as possible with the objects overlapping in your drawing just like they are from your point of view in real life. Add color to your drawing with whatever art materials you have available for more points!

Bring your finished artwork to art class and turn it in to Mrs. Nhu (or email a picture of it to her at angela.nhu@rpsar.net) on the day we return back to school for a grade.

5th Snow Day Assignment:

Draw a portrait of yourself or a family member. If you draw yourself, look into a mirror in order to study your features and draw yourself as realistically as possible. If you draw a family member, ask them to sit very still so you can draw all their features as realistically as possible. Add color to your drawing with whatever art materials you have available for more points!

Bring your finished artwork to art class and turn it in to Mrs. Nhu (or email a picture of it to her at angela.nhu@rpsar.net) on the day we return back to school for a grade.
